The International Klein Blue (IKB) was registered on May 19, 1960 at the Institut national de la propriété industrielle (INPI). The technical research for the elaboration of this intensely blue color constitutes an artistic act in itself. Yves Klein applied it to various supports and produced a prototype coffee table, both a work of art and a piece of utilitarian furniture.
