Philippe HOSIASSON (1898-1978) The meal. Oil on canvas dedicated "to Jean Cassou with friendship and gratitude", signed and dated 1946 lower right. Height : 54 cm 54 cm - Width : 65 cm Exhibition label on the back. Philippe Hosiasson, of Ukrainian origin, decorator of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes and then Romanov, painter of the School of Paris, mixes the influences of Cubism and Expressionism, gradually moving towards abstraction in order to "express his conception of the world".
