Märklin (Germany), scale 1, mythical CCS66/12921 or so-called Crocodile locomotive of the SBB, 1933-1937, 2 motors of 20 volt, very rare in this excellent state of preservation, functional, appraised and tested in 2014, length. 65 cmNote: the electric locomotive known as Crocodile (Be 6/8II, Ce 6/8 II as well as various variants) is a powerful locomotive wanted by the SBB to pull heavy freight trains on the numerous slopes of the Swiss network, in particular for the Gotthard line between Lucerne and Chiasso. It was put into service in 1919. In the early 1930s Märklin began to develop a model version of the car in response to strong demand. Proposed for the first time in the 1933/1934 Christmas catalog, they were only delivered in 1935. The Crocodile was then available in two scales: the CCS 66/12920 in O scale, and the CCS 66/12921 in 1 scale, the larger one, such as the one offered here at auction.
