This very rare action photo is taken on Monday, July 18, 1921 in Montbéliard during the second control of the 12th stage (Geneva-Strasbourg, 371km). It was 11:29 am in the capital of France, and a first peloton of 30 champions led by the Belgian Hector Heusghem arrived at the control.
