Description

Boxe/KO/Gonzague-Privat (1880-1915). Rare issue of "Les Sports Illustrés et Amusants", whose editor, illustrator and probably sole editor were one and the same person, he Pierre Gonzague-Privat, former artist and Giant of the road. This gives us an abundant and gamey number giving an idea of the richness of the sport at the beautiful time in Paris, with the front page color "Question of fist of sight", a black pugilist banged up saying sadly: "To say that in the room y have fun... "We specified in Paris, because in the United States, the champions of colors were so persecuted, that they had to take refuge in Paris, where they blossomed in spite of some inconveniences...(32x25). A book magically evokes this period, it is "Ring noir" by Claude Meunier.
