Nicolae Tonitza (attrib) 1886 Barland - 1940 Bucharest village view. Oil on cardboard. Signed lower left. 33 x 29,5 cm (visible size). Framed. Tonitza studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich from 1908. In 1909 he lived in Paris for two years and from 1911 taught as a drawing instructor at the Military College in Iasi, Romania. In 1912 he finished his studies at the Academy of Arts in Iasi. From 1933 he held the chair at the Iasi Academy and became its rector in 1937.
