Bhairava, Northeast India, Pala-Sena dynasty, 12th century H. 7.3 cm. Beige stone The wrathful form of Shiva stands on a lotus base, leaning against a halo of flames. She is richly adorned with a tiara, necklaces, bracelets and is dressed in a dhoti with incised motifs. She holds in her hands a trident and a cup. The sword and the cleaver have disappeared.
