Buddha head, Pakistan-Afghanistan, ancient Gandhara region, 3-4th century H. 20 cm. Grey schist The face of the Buddha is serene, with half-closed almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, joined lips and elongated earlobes. He wears a drooping moustache and his wavy hair is pulled back in a bun on the top of his head and held back by a diadem. Provenance: Christie's Amsterdam 1995 1995-2022, M. C.
