Buddhist attendant's head, Thailand Ayuthaya style, 18th century H. 41 cm. Polychrome sandstone and copper alloy The face of the deity is smiling, the eyes half-closed in almond shape, the joined lips rising to the corners, the eyebrows in relief. The tiara, reminiscent of the structure of the stupa, is composed of superimposed concentric circular elements, ending in a point. Provenance : Liliane and Michel Durand-Dessert Collection 2005-2022 Acquired from the Marcel Nies Oriental Art Gallery, Antwerp.
