Tent tower caïdal, " haïti ", in silk and silk velvet Hanging composed of 8 panels in the form of an arcature, four of which are entirely embroidered with mihrabs in golden thread decorated with mandorles and arabesques of palmettes. Frieze of merlons in the upper part. Lined with cotton or blue linen. Morocco, late 19th-early 20th century (Strong wear, numerous tears and some lacks.) Size : 500 x 200 cm ? to be verified Provenance : According to the family history, the King of Morocco gave this hanging to General Henri Gouraud (Lyautey's right-hand man during the colonization of Morocco) at the beginning of the 20th century. It has remained in the family of his descendants ever since.
