Stamp of the editor François Renaud in the lower right corner of the drawing (L.1042) Height 28,4 cm ; Width : 36,5 cm Provenance: - Former Collection of Countess Odon de Montesquiou-Fezensac, Château de Courtanvaux, Bessé-sur-Braye, his sale, George Petit Gallery, December 9-10, 1929, lot no. 8 - Former collection of Count Raoul de Montesquiou-Fezensac - Anonymous sale, Christie's, London, July 8, 2008, lot 106. - Estate of Alexis Gregory, sold for the benefit of the Alexis Gregory Foundation. A proof of this drawing was sold at Christie's, Paris, December 16, 2005, lot 126. The watermill could be the Roconval mill, located just outside Paris, which was represented in another drawing and a proof by Robert. The latter bears an inscription Cour du moulin de Roconval (see J. de Cayeux, Les Hubert Robert du musée de Valence, op. cit., pp. 230-231). The same mark of the editor François Renaud can also be seen in the lower right corner.
