Borrowing its name from the main character in Madame Butterfly, the chair combines the strength of its beechwood frame with the aesthetic characteristics of a butterfly taking flight. The top of the legs and bottom of the seat rails have been cut in a curved fashion to create a sense of detachment from the floor, as if the piece is ready to float. The natural color of the beech is reflected in the carvings on the legs.
