Wire chair. Model "Bertoia Asymmetric Chaise". Design from 1952. Later version. Frame in welded steel construction with rods in chrome. Red cover mounted over braided construction.
The chair never advanced beyond a prototype until 2005, when Knoll, with the help of Bertoia's family, took the design into full production. Two prototypes were made. In 2003, one was sold by Bertoia's family, at which point Knoll gained access to the chaise to use as a model for reproduction.
