Description

Martin :

Alix, plate n° 24 in the Indian ink of the episode "La Tiare d'Oribal" published in the newspaper Tintin n°13 of March 28, 1956. Alix has accepted the mission to lead Oribal back to his kingdom occupied by the Parthians. In the treasure that the sovereign brings back to his country there is the symbol of his legitimacy, the tiara of his ancestors. It is with this story that the artist truly acquires total mastery of his art. We discover Alik and Enak pursued by their sworn enemy, the Greek Arbaces. Major plate of which the last box - real "cliffhanger" - was the subject of a cover project that can be seen in full page of the book "Jacques Martin, le voyageur du temps" (Ed. Casterman 2021).
