Description

Dragon sword, variant of model 1767. Iron handle in half basket with riveted bands, leather-covered spindle (no watermark), cape cover. Flat-backed blade well marked with the arrow of Solingen, with hollow panel engraved "Vive le Roy" on one side and "Vive le Roi" taken up on the other side, in smaller size and surmounted by the arms of France. Total length 97.5 cm, blade 82 cm, width at the heel 26 mm, SF. Saber attributed to the regiment of Custine and having illustrated the article of M. Pétard on the saber of 1767 for the dragons Tradition Magazine n°62, March 1992.
