Font Alfonso/Les robinsons de la terre/De bannelingen van de aarde. Original cover for the story n°8 "Le robot de l'épouvante" of the series published in Pif Gadget in 1979. India ink and watercolor. Framed with glass included: 42 X 48 cm While still wandering in the vast forests of Thula, the 3 Axians and Tanou have little hope of leaving the satellite or escaping the men of the tyrant, Zorca. A fearsome war machine is sent after the fugitives, a Detectodor. It is a terrible destructive robot-feline, very powerful and programmed to destroy them ... Alfonso Font is a comic book writer of Spanish and Catalan origin, born in 1946 in Barcelona. Draughtsman and scriptwriter, he was a student of Hugo Pratt with whom he worked in the workshop. Between 1975 and 1977, he drew Sandberg Père et Fils for Pif Gadget. With the scriptwriter Solet and a fellow Spaniard Carlos Gimenez, he creates the mystery files. He then undertook with Roger Lecureux and for 3 years "Les Robinsons de la Terre", a futuristic series still published by Pif, of which only one album was published by Vaillant. In the 1980's, his work becomes more mature : the characters of "Clarke and Kubrick" appear for the first time in various Spanish newspapers and in Circus. His passion for SF will push him to realize alone "The Prisoner of the Stars", a fantastic series where an amnesiac being manipulated discovers the truth with the help of a beautiful rebel. We find Alfonso Font with his friend Patrick Cothias in the magazine "Circus", on the series "Alise et les Argonautes", a fable about a world made of manipulated and manipulators (two albums at Glénat). For the magazine Pilote and Charlier he creates "Elle s'appelle cab". Alfonso Font tackles the tough job of investigative journalist with the adventures of a beautiful reporter. Two albums of this series will be published by Vaisseau d'Argent and one by Dargaud. His latest works are in Spanish and Italian. He draws on the series "Tex" an album Giant and an "Almanacco Tex" for Sergio Bonelli.
