Wooden reliquary figure representing a stylized character. The concave face is plated with brass and copper leaves stapled with repoussé decoration. A large crescent also plated with brass surmounts the face. The tips are made of copper plates (the left one is missing) and double brass spirals decorate the upper rim. The raised eyes seem to be inlaid with grayish metal. The diamond-shaped base meets at the base. The wooden back is undecorated and shows an old native restoration to the hat with wrought iron staples. Old patina of use. Kota people, Gabon, early 20th century. H. 49.5 cm.
