[Stereoscopes]. Stereo-graphoscope, wooden viewer for the viewing of (stereo)photographs, late 19th cent., a double-layered box of wood, the hinging lid consisting of a front incorporating double lenses w. eye-pieces and a single magnifying glass above w. 2 compartments: in the upper compartment a hinging and sliding holder w. brass poles; the lower compartment possibly for the storage of stereophotographs, total size 21,5(l.)x14(w.)x6,5(h.) cm. (when closed). = In fine condition. A very nice instrument for use on table surface, allowing the viewer to be used both horizontally as well as in a sloping position (by propping up the hinging middle part of the stereoscope with a wooden leg).
