CHINA, Qing dynasty, 18th - 19th century. Probably a sceptre knob or headdress ornament representing a dragon on a spray of blossoming lotuses and plant interlacing. Celadon jade with rusty patches. Height: 8 cm - Length: 7 cm. 30% OF THE PAYMENT IMMEDIATELY AT THE PURCHASE Provenance: Brought back by Captain Joachim Léonce Bassery of the 10th regiment of the line infantry after the Palikao campaign in 1860, then kept by descent. Source: Order of battle of the French army during the 2nd opium war or the 1860 expedition.
