A student of Emmanuel Fremiet, the artist devoted himself to animal sculpture. His small bronzes were prized by collectors and some of his works are preserved in museums: Musée Ste Croix in Poitiers and Musée d'Orsay in Paris. He exhibited in the Salons from 1901
