FOUCAULD, Saint Charles de (1858-1916), French army officer turned explorer, linguist and Catholic priest, died a martyr. Fragmentary autograph manuscript of his work "Grammar and Dictionary French-Tuareg, Tuareg-French". 4 pp. 1/2 in brown ink. Pagination 13 followed by the numbers V, VI (blank), IX, X, XI and XII. Each page has a heart of jesus at the top with the name "iesus". Very interesting autograph manuscript of Father Charles de Foucauld, canonized on May 15, 2022. It contains about 70 sentences in Tuareg with French translations, rule for the future tense and exceptions (11 lines). A fingerprint. Rare.
