L.A.S. addressed to Jean Pâris de Monmartel (1690-1766), great financier of the kingdom, banker of the Court and godfather of the Marquise de Pompadour. He was one of the richest men in France, after Louis XV. Versailles, October 6, 1751 [?].1 p. in-4. Envelope with preserved address, very beautiful red wax seal with the arms of the Dauphin. Louis de Bourbon collects the debts of Saint-Sauveur, to the banker Monmartel. "There is still, Sir, a part of the debts of St. Sauveur which was not included in what you advanced last year. Luy or Rosieres must give you an exact account of them. I intend to pay them like the others, so after you have been [...] informed of the sum they amount to, I will ask you to count them to the persons to whom he owes them, and if that suits you I will pay them to you after the 91,000 I still owe you [...]".
