BOURDELLE, Antoine (1861-1929). Set of 2 interesting letters: -L.A.S. addressed to the painter and engraver Albert Besnard. Paris, March 10, 1924. 2 pp. large in-4. Additions and corrections. Three clumsy restorations without affecting the text. Bourdelle confusedly asks him to be the Commander at the next appointment of the Chancellery: "Allow me to choose you. My dear President, as being the one, with Rodin, who best represents the great Art of our country. Allow me to choose you as the one to whom the Chancellery will be able to transmit, if you accept, the necessary powers, and that you will want to receive me as Commander. Years ago you announced to me - at the home of Mr. Jacques Rouché - your approach in favor of my nomination to the title of knight.
