Lucien FALIZE (1839-1897). Brooch in gold satin 750 thousandths and multicolored enamel of style renaissance decorated with openwork leafy motives to which are leaned 2 griffons. It is decorated with 2 fine pearls, one of which is a pendant, the whole punctuated with old-cut diamonds and crowned roses. About 1889. Slightly missing enamel. Gross weight: 25.50 g. Dim: 5.5 x 4.3 cm. Bibliography: a similar jewel is represented on the cover of the book Falize ''A dynasty of jewelers by Katherine Purcell to the Editions Thames and Hudson and page 83, as well as in the work of Henri VEVER, The French jewelry in the XIXe century, volume III, page 501. This brooch was presented at the Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1889.

The hallmark for Alexis Père et Lucien Fils, belonging to the boutique, joaillerie l'orfèvrerie located at 43 (not 55?) Avenue de l'Opéra is inscribed from 1875 onwards, and differs from the one the one on our bracelet. In fact, the hallmark most probably present on our bracelet bracelet is that of Maître Falize ainé amp; Fils "L.F. Fils, une bague et une perle" inscribed in 1892. This bracelet was made by Louis, son of Alexis Falize and father of André Pierre and Jean Falize. of André Pierre and Jean Falize, contained in a somewhat earlier case from the company.
