In-4, blue morocco, large gilt decoration of ears of wheat prolonged by volutes in dotted lines, small flowers and bees, central diamond in reserve, spine with nerves decorated in the same way, lining of light blue morocco decorated with a gilt floral decoration in curves, underlined by gilded nets with dotted lines, guard of blue moire, gilded edges, covers preserved, without the back, half-maroquin folder with corners, case (Binding fashioned by Joly, 1918, on a drawing by Jules Chadel). 26 plates by Léon Lhermitte. Edition of 600 copies. One of 25 on white vellum, after 25 chine and 25 japon, n° 66. Sumptuous binding with a "jeweler's" decoration designed by Jules Chadel for Henri Vever (gilt bookplate; 1854-1942): jeweler, man of letters, bibliophile and collector, he was president of the Society of One Hundred Bibliophiles and an active member of the Friends of Books, of Contemporary Books and of Modern Books. According to Crauzat (I. pp. 174-176), the bindings executed by Robert Joly for Henri Vever, "of a splendid richness and a remarkable perfection of execution, are among the most beautiful of the important library of this great amateur", estimates Slight foxing.
