Blade stamped 'Francesco Ruiz' in the fuller. Exceptionally high bell, flooded. Openwork on the scalloped edge. Swivelled hilt with a widely flaring quillons, decorated with spirals. Lenticular pommel with decorative notching. Dark wooden grip, decorated with embedded silver wire on the four edges. Spain, 17th century.
