Egyptian Black Stone Osiris Statuette, Late Period, 664-332 B.C. A black stone figure of Osiris wearing the White Crown of Upper Egypt, with remains of uninscribed tapering pillar to reverse, the figure's arms crossed over the chest, hands gripping crook and flail; mounted on a later display base. 320 grams total, 17.2 cm high including stand (6 3/4 in.). From a early 20th century French collection. Acquired Drouot, Paris, 2000s. From an important Paris gallery, France. Ex private Parisian collection.
