Uniform souvenirs of Captain Louis Pierre GALLET, 301st Heavy Artillery Regiment and 271st RAC of Poitiers: - A first set including a jacket and breeches of Artillery Second Lieutenant: Jacket model 1913 in woolen sheet gray-blue iron, with four pockets and black Bakelite buttons, collar tabs of the model of the Heavy Artillery embroidered with gold cannetille on the background sheet - Artillery breeches in black woolen gabardine with vertical bands of sheet and scarlet piping. Rear martingale and leather basanes at the crotch. Worn set. (missing a few buttons, stained and dirty, moth holes, to be cleaned, in the state). - A second set comprising a jacket and breeches of Artillery Lieutenant of the 103rd Heavy Artillery Regiment: Jacket model 1915 in black woolen cloth, with four pockets and brass buttons Artillery, brass collar numbers, tailor label "Sulmont & Bethouart in Amiens". Presence of four chevrons of seniority, embroidered golden cannetille on the bottom sheet for 30 months of presence at the front - Artilleryman's breeches in black wool gabardine with vertical strips of cloth and scarlet piping. Rear martingale with the name "Gallet and dated 9-15". Worn set. (missing a few buttons, stained and dirty, moth holes, to be cleaned, as is). - A third set comprising a kepi, a jacket and breeches of Captain of Artillery of the 271st RAC of Poitiers: Kepi model 19 of Captain of Artillery, grenade of Artillery in gilded brass, mark hatter Déméocq in Poitiers. Worn. (deformed, quite good condition) - Jacket model 1915 in khaki wool gabardine, with four pockets and corozo buttons, collar tabs embroidered with gold cannetille with the flaming grenade of the Artillery and crescent. Presence of six chevrons of seniority, embroidered golden cannetille on the bottom sheet for 42 months of presence at the front - Artilleryman's breeches in khaki wool gabardine with scarlet piping and rear martingale. Worn set. (missing a few buttons, stained and dirty, moth holes, the breeches very damaged, to clean, in the state). Attached is a set of four pairs of soft bands and a pair of bluish iron grey cotton gloves. Worn. (fairly good condition). The whole in its state of discovery, never in collection before. Provenance: family estate of Major General Marie Alexandre Emile Hippolyte Gallet (1856-1925). During the First World War, General Gallet took part in the battles of Charleroi, Guise, the Marne (Battle of the Two Morins) and the Aisne at the head of the 89th Territorial Infantry Division, then the 88th Territorial Infantry Division. Captain Louis Pierre Gallet was the brother of the Major General. He was a Brigadier in 1914, then Second Lieutenant in the 301st Heavy Artillery Regiment, then Lieutenant and Captain in the 271st RAC in Poitiers in 1918.
