France, 1st World War. Lot of insignia and small miscellaneous items that belonged to Captain Louis Pierre GALLET, 301st Heavy Artillery Regiment and 271st RAC of Poitiers, including : His identity plate with its chain and two religious medals, rare universal model helmet insignia of the Polish army worn on the blue-horizon model 15 helmet, khaki model 15 Artillery troop helmet insignia (damaged fixing tabs), Prussian troop spiked helmet plate model 1895 and four uniform buttons, various collar tabs in pair including 275th RAC (and two small brass "275" insignia), 11th RA and 20th RA (three pairs), various rank insignia on blue-horizon cloth background including Second Lieutenant and seniority chevrons (four and six chevrons, embroidered with golden cannetille on blue-horizon cloth for respectively 30 and 42 months of presence at the front), three chevrons in golden passementerie on black cloth background for 24 months of presence at the front, 1st class soldier's chest badge in scarlet wool on black background, fourragère with military medal colors, Artillery badge in brass with two broaching barrels and various. Worn, patina of time. Never in collection before. (small accidents, moth holes for the fabric badges, fairly good condition). Provenance: family estate of Major General Marie Alexandre Emile Hippolyte Gallet (1856-1925). During the First World War, General Gallet took part in the battles of Charleroi, Guise, the Marne (Battle of the Two Morins) and the Aisne at the head of the 89th Territorial Infantry Division, then of the 88th Territorial Infantry Division. Captain Louis Pierre Gallet was the brother of the Major General. He was a Brigadier in 1914, then Second Lieutenant in the 301st Heavy Artillery Regiment, then Lieutenant and Captain in the 271st RAC in Poitiers in 1918.
