France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Troop helmet of the Republican Guard on horseback model 1876/07. Model worn from 1907 until 1940, the Legion of Honor is awarded to the city of Paris on October 9, 1907 and appears under the shield of the Arms of the city. Nickel-plated steel bomb very oxidized in places, with brass trimmings, stamped with the maker's mark "SIRAUDIN & HERSANT" and head turn "57" and "3" and "59". Brass band decorated with foliage with the Arms of the City of Paris and the Legion of Honor. The basanes of the visor and the headband are missing. Black mane with an effective length of about 60 cm. Brass aigrette holder with scarlet horsehair aigrette. Square-shaped brass plume holder without its plume. Brass chinstraps with scales to the model. Inside cap in brown waxed basane with seven wolf teeth. Worn. (small hole on the back left of the bomb filled formerly with mastic, fairly good condition).
