France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Nice set of Cuirassier Chef de Corps. Officer's helmet Cuirassier model 1874 of small Staff of the manufacturer "ALEXIS GODILLOT". Beautiful silver-plated copper bomb, pierced at the top of four holes-vented with visor and nude bordered by a brass rush and lined with brown basane with small missing. The bomb is stamped on the back with the maker's mark "ALEXIS GODILLOT". The crest, the headband and the pencil holder are gilded with matte mercury and burnished. Mane of black manes complete with braided braid, apparent length of about 68 cm. Chinstraps with ten brass scales cut into laurel leaves and rosettes stamped with sixteen leaves gilded with mercury and lined with black velvet, to the model, the small leather chinstrap of the end of the right chinstrap is damaged. They are stamped with the manufacturer's marking "ALEXIS GODILLOT BREVETE S.G.D.G.". Brass headband decorated with the flaming grenade in the center of laurel branches. Complete with its interior cap in brown basane waxed. It is equipped with a plume in tricolor rooster feathers of small Staff, the red at the top and the blue at the foot and an olive in silver thread trimmings, the olive is damaged (remains), a golden brass olive was added. Complete. Worn. In its original condition, never in collection before. (wear and patina of time, small accidents, the base of the marmoset supporting the puff of scarlet hair is damaged and the nape of the neck is pierced with two holes (?), good condition).
