Description

France, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848). Helmet of Cuirassier troop model 1825-30. Minerva-shaped steel helmet, superficially oxidized, with a sheet steel visor and helmet-cover bordered by a brass rim (the rim is missing). The rear rim is stamped with the marking "Recuis", "27" for 1827 the year of production and stamped "520". Brass band embossed with a flaming bomb framed with laurel and oak branches, stamped "3" on the back for 3rd Company. Stamped brass crest, the mask stamped with a palmette topped by a medusa head and the fins stamped with eight gadroons of decreasing shape, highlighted with pearls and framed with buttons, the "rain screen" protecting the top of the crest is present. The eaglet holder is present and equipped with a black horsehair puff (slightly shortened horsehair, the base of the eaglet holder posterior (reproduction) and the modern fixing rod). The brass pen holder on the left side of the bomb is present. The helmet is equipped with a pair of brass curb chain chinstraps in the form of intertwined "8" resting on brown leather chinstraps and their brass radiating center rosettes. Black mane of hair in the form of a brush on the top. 29 cm (without the chenille). (inner cap missing, helmet with small old restorations, the right fin of the crest damaged, fairly good condition).
