Description

France, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848). Helmet trumpet troop of Dragon model 1830. Brass minerva-shaped helmet with small shocks. Steel visor and helmet cover lined with basanes and edged around the edge of a brass ruffle (basanes reported and later). It is stamped "270" and ".1828" on the back. Brass band embossed with a flaming bomb framed with laurel and oak branches. Stamped brass crest, the mask stamped with a palmette topped with a medusa head, the fins stamped with thirteen gadroons of decreasing shape, outlined with pearls and framed with buttons. The eagle holder is present with black hair puff (puff reported). Mane in scarlet hair with brush chenille, later. The brass plume holder on the left side of the bomb is present with a scarlet rooster feather plume (faded, the color tending to pink). Pair of chinstraps with brass curb chains in the form of "8" interlaced mounted on brown leather chinstraps (later leathers) and their rosettes with radiating brass center. Inner leather cap cut in wolf's teeth, reported and posterior. 27.5 cm (without the fret holder and without the mane). (helmet restored in the past, fairly good condition).
