Garnet half-maroquin, spine with 5 nerves decorated with gilt fleur-de-lis, bundle, imperial eagle and rooster, gilt title, tomescription and year, gilt arms at foot, gilt fillet on the covers, gilt heads, covers preserved. (Yseux, successor of Thierry-Simier). With the arms of CARNOT. Colonel Sadi CARNOT, vice-president of the Sabretache, was part of the honorary committee of this magazine founded in Strasbourg, on February 8, 1920 by General HIRSCHAUER and Major BUCQUOY. On the preserved covers, appear the handwritten indications to the binder. First 17 years of the magazine. 292 hors-texte plates mounted on tabs, most of them in colors. The best military painters brought their collaboration : JOB, Benigni, Rousselot, Lerous, Bucquoy, Huen, Boisselier... The frontispiece of n°1 " Officer of Polish lancers - 1812 " and the pl. n° 5 " Bercheny-Hussards, Lieutenant-Colonel, 1786 " (3rd year) are missing. Damage to the cover of the last volume. Nice set however.
