Set of cent-gardens: Helmet, ice-polished iron bomb, numbered: "174", white mane with braid, gilt brass crest and headband, the latter stamped with the: "N" crowned, gilt brass scale chinstraps adorned with laurel leaves, lion's head hump, white horsehair marmoset; wolf's tooth basane inner headpiece; it is presented with a red plume, red olive. (Headband showing wear to the: "N" and crown; small accident to the basane of the cap; one chinstrap damaged). Cuirass, faceplate in wrought iron polished ice decorated with rivets around the edges, blackened interior, equipped with hooks for the soubreveste; the back, of identical manufacture, bears the two leather straps covered with large iron scales, mounted with large brass rivets; stamped brass patelettes with laurel leaves decoration, white buffalo belt. (A hook for attaching the vest broken, on the faceplate). Two-piece cuirass vest, quilted unbleached canvas, edged with red cloth, size: "1", number: "158" and dated: "1854"; it is decorated, around the edge, with piping and braid in gold trimming; fastenings sewn on a leather reinforcement. The set is presented with a aiguillette in gold trimmings and red silk, gilded ferrets with the: "N" crowned and a giberne for the horse outfit, black leather case, patelette with the arms of the Empire on a glory and bordered with a brass rod, the interior is numbered: "203", dated: "1858" and signed: "DELACHAUSSÉE", white buffalo banner with double stitching, brass trimmings, a knight's cross of the order of the Legion of Honor of the Second-Empire has been added on the banner. Second Empire period. Good condition.
