X cm The cathedral and primatial St. Rombout is a Catholic religious building in the city of Mechelen in Belgium. The construction of the church began around 1200 and was completed around 1520. Its tower (97m) is unfinished was intended to be the highest in Europe to reach 167 m. In 2005, after the engineers determined the support capacity of the ground and the tower, it was decided to complete the entire spire from the original drawings.
