A Victorian silver epergne on a mirrored plateau, by Horace Woodward & Co., Birmingham 1878, the tapering central column with engraved decoration and with three mythical birds on claw and ball feet, with lion mask drop-ring handles, supporting a central cut glass bowl, with three foliate scroll arms each supporting a smaller cut glass bowl, on a raised shaped triangular base on four foliate bracket feet, the mirror plateau of circular form, engraved decoration, beaded borders, on four shell bracket feet, with two baize lined trays for the branches and glass and a later modern trunk, and with a spare matched bowl, height of epergne 59.2cm, diameter of plateau 37cm, total height on plateau with glass bowl 72cm, approx. weighable 126oz.
