[Anne de Bretagne] Le Livre d'Heures de la Reine Anne de Bretagne, translated from Latin and accompanied by unpublished notes by M. l'Abbé Delaunay. Paris, Curmer, 1861, 2 volumes in-4 bound in full chocolate chagrin, spine ribbed, gilt edges, interior roulette, moiré silk endpapers. Binding signed Petit, successor of Simier. The first volume contains the complete reproduction, lithographed in color by R.-J. Lemercier, of the original manuscript of the early 16th century, composed of numerous chromolithographs mounted on tabs. The second volume of text contains the French translation of the manuscript and the unpublished notes written by Abbé Delaunay. Edition at 850 copies, this one nominative for Mrs. Benoit Fould, wife of the banker, art collector (n°633). Beautiful copy in a signed binding of this chromolithographic reproduction of the Great Hours of Anne de Bretagne, one of the most famous and beautiful French illuminated manuscripts, commissioned by the queen to the illuminator Jean Bourdichon.
