Gustave DORE (1832-1883) Painter and illustrator. Autograph letter signed addressed to the English publisher James Payne. The letter, of two pages and a half, with his embossed figure is dated of a Tuesday, certainly of 1867. It deals with the illustrations that Doré executed to illustrate Les Idylles du Roi by the poet Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892), one of the most famous British poets of the Victorian era.
