[ARCHIVE du VALENCIENNOIS et de la PLAINE de la SCARPE] Important archive of interest to the region of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and covering a period from the beginning of the 15th century to the middle of the 17th century, in which we find 65 handwritten documents, written on parchment or vellum, sometimes accompanied by wax or paper seals, and in which appear many names of important local figures of the time such as those of Michel des Espringalles, Jeanne d'Egmont. One finds in the archive, acts of sale of land dated 1418, 1449, 1506, 1530, 1550, 1572, 1604, 1605 or 1636, donations of land like the one dated 1551, or the one concerning Lecelle, of 1671, exchanges of goods dated 1573, 1595, or exchanges of shares of houses like the one of 1541 located in St-Amand, one also finds acts of heiress' sale of which one of 1494, of farm sales (1460), of pastures (1554), of houses like the one located at Saint-Amand, of 1488, or others dated 1490 and 1550, acts of heir annuity of 1456 and 1622, of sale of annuity in 1561 and 1570, of purchase of annuity like the one of Lecelles of 1456 or those of St-Amand of 1413 and 1565, or of reimbursement of annuity of 1597 and 1617. We also find receipts (1555), attestations like the one concerning Adrien Rasse, in Hamel in 1564, acts of successions or purchases of houses like those concerning the city of Brueil in 1530, 1545 or 1547 or the sale of the house of Jean Godin, in the same city in 1560, acts of inheritance (1431 and 1458), of lease like the one attributed to Pierre Denys, canon of Leuze, in 1590 or of transfer of lease (1625), of acknowledgements of debts (1717), of purchase of ploughing land (1526), finally a document on the mill of the city dated 1596, on the abbey of Saint-Amand, of 1503, an act of marriage of 1444, another of power of attorney of 1579, of sales of lands to Le Celle of 1438 and 1526, to Hamel in 1558, or still a report and enumeration of the fiefdom of Mastaing of 1542
