[ATLAS LITHOGRAPHY] - SELVES (H.). Geographical atlas drawn up under the direction of the Royal Council of Public Instruction for the use of colleges. By H. Selves, lithographer of the University. Chevry-Cossigny, Imprimerie de H. Selves, Paris, au Dépôt général, s.d. [1832-35]. 4 parts in 1 volume in-folio half vellum, printed label on the upper cover (binding of the time) including : I - Ancient geography; II - Geography of the Middle Ages; III - Current modern geography; IV - Current modern geography supplement. Each of these 4 parts is composed of 16 maps, that is to say a total of 64 colored maps. Staining and small marginal paper loss on the first two leaves, binding in poor condition, especially the spine. RARE EXAMPLE absolutely COMPLETE of all its parts and maps, whereas one usually finds only fragments. It is the first atlas printed in lithography. Its first edition dates from 1821-22.
