Beautiful proof on vellum, of an intermediate state between the 1st and 2nd (of 4), Motte's address erased but not yet replaced by Villain's. General oxidation of the folio. Short tears at the right edge. Nice margins. Joint: Théodore Géricault (1791-1823) (after). Return from Russia. 1818. Lithograph (copy by an anonymous person). 332 x 401 mm; the sheet: 335 x 405 mm. Printed with beige colored stone. A good proof on vellum, trimmed to the double fillet, without the artist's name, taken from the verso of an unfinished trial proof of another lithograph.
