Autograph poem ""Epistre à Mlle Chéré à St Ouën, 1732"", 8 pp. small in-4, carefully calligraphed : ""O beautiful desired object / Of the most loving of men ! O my lovable Chéré! What are you not where we are? [...]"" With a strikethrough and a correction and the autograph mention at the head ""Worn on the collection"". This epistle was indeed published in the Œuvres complètes edited by Rigoley de Juvigny (1778). Alexis Piron (Dijon, 1689-1773): Poet, playwright, and chansonnier, author of an Ode à Priape that pursued him all his life closed the doors of the Académie française (Louis XV refused to ratify his election in 1753). Mademoiselle Chéret was an actress at the Opéra Comique between 1724 and 1761.
