FRENCH SCHOOL of the last third of the XVIIth century. Allegory of Time and Beauty. Oil on copper, with the middle part of the painting scrolled (small scratches; old gaps; old yellowed varnish; some restorations). H. 19.5 - L. 22 cm. On the iconography of the "Beauty of a Woman" armed with a spear with which she pierces hearts, the mirror that reflects her own beauty with which her lovers are enamored, and the dragon, symbol of the excesses of Love and the venom of Jealousy, one may refer to Cesare Ripa's Iconology, Part I, Beauty of a Woman.
