Description
TITIAN - Tiziano Vecellio, called (After) 1488 / 1490 - 1576. Recovery of the nineteenth century. The Martyrdom of Saint Peter of Verona. Oil on canvas of origin (four small pieces of reinforcements; small lifts). On the reverse an old inscription TETIAN (?). H. 101 - L. 63 cm. After the composition of Titian made for the church of the Dominicans (1530) of San Giovanni e Paolo in Venice and lost in 1867 in a fire (Cf. Peter Humfrey, Titian, All the painted works, n° 86, p.135 - Ludion 2007).
