Jacques Kupélian (1933-2022) and Yvette Kupélian (1938-2020) were a couple of automobile historians known for the quality and rigor of their publications. Among these "Le grand livre de l'automobile belge" co-written with Jacques Sirtaine is certainly the best known, there were others like these reference monographs about Minerva, Auto-Union or Mercedes. Throughout his life, in addition to writing, the couple also never ceased to collect hundreds of objects of art, decoration, posters, toys and documents which today constitute a formidable Automobilia collection once kept in their home-museum in the Brussels suburbs. Automobile mascots, French and German sheet metal toys, models, miniatures, sculptures, enamelled plates and posters trace the history of the automobile through all its variations. A documentation fund completes the collection, with catalogs and rare documents of prestigious, modest or disappeared brands from the origins of the automobile to the 70s. Long-time fans of the Tatra brand, the sale will feature a Model T87, acquired by the couple in the 1960s, as well as various objects and documents relating to the brand, it kept company with a 1938 Bentley Derby and a 1969 Beetle convertible also offered for sale.Yvette and Jacques Kupelian.
