Description

EXCEPTIONAL CYLINDER DESK designed in Cuban mahogany veneer and solid mahogany, it forms a bookcase in its upper part, opening with two glazed doors decorated with small octagon-shaped woods and flanked by columns with capitals. The cylinder of the middle part discovers eight small drawers and a sliding writing tray lined with green leather concealing a lectern. It opens in its lower part by seven drawers, two of which are arranged in a chest equipped with an ingenious blocking system accessible by the two small leaves of the sunken part which thus allows the housing of the legs. Restoration period. Height : 245 cm - Width : 160 cm Depth : 66 cm The choice of wood, the exceptional quality of execution of this piece of furniture, which has remained in its original state, as well as the perfection of its neoclassical lines without heaviness despite the monumentality sought, make us think that its author must have been influenced by the works of the Jacobs or even worked for them.
