TRAVIES Charles Joseph (1804 1859) - "Les Faux MONNOYEURS". 1833. Original lithograph. Signed in the plate in the lower right corner. Proof with the letter, on wove paper. Printed by Becquet and published by Aubert, in Paris. Margins. Caricature representing magistrates, among whom, from left to right, one recognizes Gaudry (the 2nd from the left), Lecomte (the 3rd), Silvestre de Chanteloup (the 5th) and Hippolyte-Abraham Dubois (at the extreme right), who are setting in motion a pendulum. The money falls into baskets, which Louis-Philippe, in the center background, eagerly carries away. 36 x 52 cm. Condition B (slight traces of old vertical and horizontal median folds, very rare scattered light foxing, good general condition).
