French painter and engraver, Eugène Corneau is a founding member of the group of the Jeune Peinture française, a member of the Société des peintres-graveurs français and the Société de l'estampe. A close friend of Albert Marquet, he participated in the decoration of the great room of honor of the Algerian Pavilion at the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 and 1937.
