Shiva and Ganesh Polychrome pigments and gold on paper. North India, 19th century. (Accidents, faded margins and small losses). 16 x 22 cm Provenance : French private collection, catalogued in the collection as acquired on December 10, 1982 at Drouot (expert Kevorkian) Shiva, the destructive god, is represented on his vehicle the bull Nandi. He faces Ganesh, the elephant-headed god, accompanied by his vehicle the rat Mushika. The scene is set in margins decorated with a frieze of flowers on a cream background.
